TWICE’s Jeongyeon Was So Nervous To Perform After Her Hiatus, It Was Like Her Debut Stage All Over Again

Here’s what helped her.

TWICE‘s Jeongyeon was previously reported to have been suffering from a herniated disc in her neck. Not long after, JYP Entertainment announced that she had also been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, leading to a temporary hiatus from the group’s promotions for “I CAN’T STOP ME.”

She promised to return after “resting well.” True to her words, she came back to perform “Alcohol-Free” with her eight members.

In a recent interview with YouTube channel odg where she reviewed her career with a teenager, Jeongyeon talked about that period in her life and what it felt like to be back in the spotlight.

As they viewed a performance of “I CAN’T STOP ME,” Jeongyeon explained that she had to sit out due to her health.

While promoting ‘I CAN’T STOP ME,’ I had to pause because of my health condition.

They moved on to watch TWICE’s “Alcohol-Free” comeback, which is also when Jeongyeon made her highly anticipated return. She revealed that she was so nervous to perform, it was comparable to her debut stage.

This ‘Alcohol-Free’ was my comeback stage in a few months. It was like that, and I was terribly nervous. It made me feel as nervous as my debut stage.

Unlike her debut, however, her comeback in “Alcohol-Free” was easier because her years of experience as an idol made a huge difference. Without having to do anything, her facial expressions naturally came back to her.

But it felt kind of like… When I was on stage, it felt kind of natural. It’s weird. I had the facial expressions again.

She described the experience as “strange in a good way.”

She had nothing to worry about because she was flawless in that performance! Thank you for resting well, Jeongyeon.
