MONSTA X’s Minhyuk And Hyungwon Refused To Debut Without Each Other

Even if they had to “live like losers,” they were a package deal.

Long before they debuted in the group or even joined Starship Entertainment as trainees, MONSTA X‘s Minhyuk and Hyungwon were close friends who shared the same dream.

During a past live broadcast, Minhyuk revealed just how tightknit they were and how they refused to debut without one another. They weren’t going down without a fight.

Before they’d joined Starship Entertainment, both of them were part of another agency. That situation didn’t pan out as they’d thought. The agency collapsed, leaving them in a tough spot: “We were so stressed out. All our dreams were gone in an instant.”

Despite the setback, they still had each other. Not having many options left, Hyungwon moved in with Minhyuk and his family to make things easier, not giving up on their dream.

While they’d “lived like losers” to overcome the sadness, they got back up and went through the process of auditioning yet again. They made sure to hit all the “really famous agencies.” There was a twist, though.

All of them went together as a group, making it known they wanted to debut that way: “We said, ‘We want to debut as a team. Help us.'” They were so determined with their approach that it couldn’t go unnoticed.

Minhyuk admitted, “In the entertainment industry, they talked a lot about us.” Even though it’s unclear how many people were in the group, it looks like it actually ended up working.

Both Hyungwon and Minhyuk eventually became trainees under Starship Entertainment together. Despite the survival show No.Mercy, they even managed to stick together and debut as part of the same group.

Through it all, they’ve both been by each other’s sides in pursuit of their shared dream. Look at how far Minhyuk and Hyungwon have come.
