Fans Are In Love With MAMAMOO Moonbyul’s Masculine Traditional Style

Her handsome beauty transcends both time and gender.

MAMAMOO‘s Moonbyul is certainly no stranger to the more “masculine” or “gender-neutral” style as most of the time her style reflects this. She has even stated in the past that she preferred to be called “handsome” rather than “pretty” because there are many pretty female idols, but not many handsome ones. Bother her and the group are also well-known supporters of the LGBTQ+ community and being who you are.

As such, fans were extremely happy when Moonbyul performed at the KBS Gayo Daechukje (KBS Song Festival) in a traditionally masculine hanbok.

For those who don’t know, a few main differences between male and female hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) are the jacket’s length and the presence of pants. Hers also resembled the hanbok of a king because of its red color, golden symbol, and its below-the-knee length.

While all of the members wore hanbok, Moonbyul’s was the most masculine and perhaps the closest one to being accurate. She was the only one with the golden king’s symbol and the only one to be fully covered by sleeves and long pants. Her jacket was also sleeveless, resembling how male commoner’s jackets are more like vests. Wheein was probably the second most masculine, however, the way hers was cut and the shorts she wore made it look more like a Chun Li outfit, who is both a very feminine and masculine video game character.

This is also not the first time Moonbyul has gone the masculine hanbok route.
