Tottenham Hotspur Defends BTS After Netizens Voice Concerns Over “Ruined Grass”

“Isn’t ruining the grass in Korea enough, do they have to go abroad and do the same?”

The professional football club, Tottenham Hotspur F.C., has reassured netizens who were concerned that BTS‘ concert at the Wembley Stadium would damage the grass.

On February 20 (KST), Tottenham Hotspur welcomed BTS, who is set to perform at the Wembley Stadium in London in June, through a Facebook post.

“Welcome to Wembley, BTS!
The place where Son Heung Min shoots goals and where fans cheer him on! On June 1st, another Korean star, BTS, will be visiting to hold a concert!

After the message was posted, however, some netizens voiced concerns over the state of the grass as the Wembley Stadium will be Tottenham Hotspur’s home ground for the 2018-2019 season.

  • “The grass will be ruined because of the performance.”
  • “Isn’t ruining the grass in Korea enough, do they have to go abroad and do the same?”
  • “I’m so worried about the grass.”

In response to these concerns, however, the football club released a statement reassuring netizens that there is nothing to worry about as similar concerts have been held regularly and stated that they were excited to have BTS.

“Concerts have been held regularly at the Wembley Stadium during the off-season. Last summer, Talyor Swift and Ed Sheeran held a performance and this summer, the stadium will be hosting BTS followed by Spice Girls, Bon Jovi, Eagles and Pink. Please don’t worry too much. We are looking forward to seeing other representative stars of South Korea alongside Son Heung Min!”

Meanwhile, BTS will be holding their Speak Yourself tour starting from May 4, 2019 and will be performing at the Wembley Stadium in London on June 1st!
