Taemin, Sooyoung And Kangta To Perform In Concert Raising Awareness For Suicide Prevention

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to youth suicide prevention charities.

Singer Lee Dong Woo will be holding a series of concerts with fellow entertainers including H.O.T‘s Kangta, SHINee‘s Taemin, and Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

The concert will be held from April 23 to May 7 at the CKL Stage in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Each concert will feature 20 special guests including Kangta, Taemin, Sooyoung as well as many other celebrities who will take time to share and talk about their hardships.

All proceeds will be donated to youth suicide prevention charities.

The concert holds a special place in Lee Dong Woo’s heart due to the fact that he suffered from an illness which eventually led to his loss of vision.

“It took me 5 years to accept the disability I would have to live with.” ㅡ Lee Dong Woo

Despite Kangta’s great success, he also endured a long period of loneliness and hardship.

“Although I wanted to talk about the difficulties I was going through in my heart, the only response I got was ‘but you succeeded’ or ‘but you’re popular’.” ㅡ Kangta

The concert will focus on these aspects of the celebrities in hopes that the younger audience who are going through the same difficulties will be encouraged by their stories and advice. In addition, the participants of the concert will not be receiving any appearance fees.

Kangta explained that it didn’t even take him 1 minute to decide to join the concert. He added that watching Lee Dong Woo sing and act in itself was encouraging for all of Lee Dong Woo’s juniors and stated that he believes the concert will prove to be a great source of motivation for the lives of the youth watching it.
