Red Velvet’s Wendy Accidentally Exposes How Rich She Is With One Christmas Dinner Photo

It costs HOW much?!

Since Red Velvet‘s Wendy left her parents behind in Canada to become an idol, fans were ecstatic to hear she finally got to celebrate Christmas Eve with them in South Korea this year. However, when Wendy posted her delicious holiday meal on Instagram, ReVeluvs were shocked by one detail that exposed how wealthy she really is.

With just one look at Wendy’s Christmas meal, you can already tell her family likes to do things the upscale way. Her table was laid with a vibrant fruit salad, roasted meat, creamy mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, and a glass of wine to top it all off.

But, for some fans, it wasn’t the food that caught their eyes—it was the plates. After noticing how fancy Wendy’s dinnerware looked, one fan on Twitter went to the liberty of hunting down the brand—and they were shocked when they saw the prices.

Wendy’s family’s embellished plates are from a famous ceramics producer called Lomonosov Porcelain Factory. Established in Russia back in the 1700s, the brand is known for its regal and expensive plates, bowls, teacups, and more.

The ones on Wendy’s table specifically are from the Cobalt Net range, hand-painted in blue and gold—and one full set of dinnerware from the line costs a staggering $1,470 USD! Even individually, the plates and bowls seen in Wendy’s family home can cost upwards of $100 USD each.

Judging by Wendy’s dinnerware, it’s safe to say her family is pretty loaded. Of course, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. The main vocalist was born in Seongbuk-dong, a neighborhood in Seoul known to play host to wealthy families from around the world. Referred to as “the Beverly Hills of Korea”, Seongbuk-dong used to be owned by the royal family during the Joseon dynasty.

Plus, when her family moved to North America, both Wendy and her older sister attended Shattuck-Saint Mary’s School in Minnesota, which charges international students $57,500 USD per year.

During a radio appearance a few years ago, Joy even joked that she heard Wendy’s house in Canada had over fifty rooms—though Wendy said she wasn’t sure how many it really had.

So, putting things into perspective, it’s not so surprising that Wendy’s family has such expensive tableware at home. Now, fans are hoping they can snag an invite to her next extravagant family meal!
