Popular Korean Film “Snowpiercer” Will Be Made Into A Netflix Series

It will be co-produced by ITV Studio Global Entertainment and Director Bong Joon Ho.

The popular 2013 film Snowpiercer, which has garnered over 9,350,000 viewers in Korea alone, will be made into a drama series and released through Netflix.

The film Snowpiercer was also well-accepted by the global audience and has won 3 awards from major film critic associations including the  Broadcast Film Critics Association.

The film was about the survivors of a second Ice Age who survived on a luxury train, plowing through snow and ice.

 

The new drama series of this film will go deeper into the subjects of class struggle, social inequality and political survival and will star Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park and many more.

 

The original directors of the movie including Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan Wook, Lee Tae Hoon and Choi Doo Ho will be participating in the production of the series as well.

Bong Joon Ho is one of the most famous film directors of Korea who has directed some of the highest-grossing Korean films of all time including The Host and Snowpiercer as well his most recent work, Okja.

 

Snowpiercer will be released worldwide through Netflix in 2019 and in the US through the cable network TNT. Stay tuned!
