“Girls Planet 999” Production Director Names His Favorite Contestant From The Show

He revealed, “I personally rooted for …”

One week after the finale of Girls Planet 999—the Mnet survival show that formed Kep1er—one of the show’s production directors has revealed which contestant was his favorite.

When the lineup for Kep1er was announced, nine contestants made the final cut: Kim Chaehyun, Huening Bahiyyih, CLC‘s Choi Yujin, Kim Dayeon, Seo Youngeun, Kang Yeseo, Ezaki Hikaru, Sakamoto Mashiro, and Shen Xiaoting.

But Kim Shin Young, one of the two PDs (production directors) for Girls Planet 999, had a favorite contestant who didn’t make the lineup…

Cherry Bullet’s Bora | Mnet

K-Group’s Kim Bora of Cherry Bullet!

I personally rooted for Kim Bora,” Kim Shin Young revealed in an interview with Star News. He added, “Unfortunately, she didn’t make the cut, but Bora tried extra hard.”

One of the things the PD liked most about Bora was how she worked hard to communicate with all the show’s participants—not just the Korean trainees. Kim Shin Young explained that when Bora realized there’d be trouble with communication between each group, she learned both Chinese and Japanese to help support the foreign contestants.

When she realized it’s difficult to communicate with C and J-Group contestants, she learned Chinese and Japanese languages to talk to them and help them out.

Thankfully, although Bora ranked 15th in the Girls Planet 999 finale and didn’t manage to make it into Kep1er, she still has her own group to return to. Since Cherry Bullet hasn’t had a comeback in a long time, it seems likely the group will be hard at work on their next release now all the members have returned from the show.

Kim Shin Young went on to say that he knows Bora will be successful no matter what she does and urged viewers to keep supporting her even though she won’t be part of Kep1er.

I know in my heart that she’ll be successful in everything she does in life—even if she does not debut in the industry. And I hope that the Planet Guardians will all continue to send her support regardless of her elimination.
