F(x)’s Luna Becomes The Voice Of Marvel’s First K-Pop Superhero

They even have the same name!

Today, superhero franchise giant Marvel announced that f(x)‘s Luna is the new voice of their first K-Pop superhero, the aptly-named Luna Snow!

You may not have heard of her before, but Luna Snow isn’t technically a new superhero. Marvel actually created her back in 2018 as part of a game collaboration with Netmarble, the company founded by Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk‘s brother.

First introduced in the Future Fight mobile video game, the Luna Snow character started out as an aspiring singer who wants to become rich and famous so she can take care of the grandmother who raised her. After a villainous organization exposed her to an energy experiment, she gained ice powers that she now uses to fight crime and perform on the K-Pop stage.

Marvel says Luna Snow was developed after their audience requested more culturally diverse and authentic super heroes. After her introduction in Future Fight, she also had an appearance in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas, a Marvel comic book series.

Now, she’s coming to a new video game—Marvel Super War—and she has a new singing voice: that of f(x)’s main vocalist, Luna. As part of the new release, Luna sang the single “Flow” from the character’s point of view.

In a message to Marvel players, Luna said she hopes Luna Snow’s powerful vocals will “heal and encourage fans around the world“.

2020 is a tough year for everyone. Superheroes never give up, and I hope this special song will bring you all the courage to get through these hard times.

Luna Snow is said to be a powerful Energy class hero in the Marvel Super War multiplayer online battle arena game, which is available on iOS and Android in select countries. The new Luna Snow character will be added to the game on December 24.
