Former YG Producer Kush Returns To The Industry 3 Years After Cocaine Scandal

He is coming back to the industry.

Former YG Entertainment producer Kush is making his return to the Korean entertainment industry 3 years after he was arrested for purchasing and using drugs, including cocaine.

According to an exclusive report from News1, Kush will be making his comeback with his new song “It Hurts” at the end of March or at the beginning of April. This would mark his first music release since 2017, when he was caught purchasing cocaine. “It Hurts” is a song about the regrets he has for a number of things he considers precious to him, things he has lost, and captures his true feelings. Former KARA member Han Seungyeon will be featuring in the music video, which has already been filmed.

Kush personally wrote and composed the song, and he had assistance from Seo Won Jin, who he worked with a lot in YG Entertainment, for the arrangement of the song. With this song, Kush will begin his activities as a soloist. He has also established his own agency, Heart Entertainment INC. Kush hopes that he will be able to make music that can touch people’s hearts through his agency.

On March 18, 2019, Kush was sentenced to 4 years of probation for his crimes of cocaine usage. If he violates his probation, he will be forced to serve 2 years and 6 months in prison. During his time away from the entertainment industry, Kush has been doing volunteer work and self reflecting.

Kush officially left THE BLACK LABEL and YG Entertainment in February 2019. During his time in YG Entertainment, he helped compose some of K-Pop’s biggest hit songs, including BIGBANG‘s “LIES”, Zion.T‘s “Yanghwa BRDG”, and 2NE1‘s “I Don’t Care”.
