The Creepy Giant Doll From Netflix’s “Squid Game” Visits The Philippines

Would you go see the giant doll?

Netflix‘s original K-Drama thriller Squid Game has captivated the world. It’s become a hit everywhere, currently trending at No. 1 on the Top 10 list of most-watched series on Netflix in many countries, including the Philippines.

There’s even a Filipino actor in the series too! Christian Lagahit plays Player 276 in Squid Game.

Now, you can join him as a contestant, too, as Squid Game has truly taken over the Philippines. You can participate in the first game of “Red Light, Green Light.” How?

The creepy giant doll, known for signaling the players to stop and go, has been making appearances at several locations. Netflix shared a video on social media, showing her at Robinsons Galleria Ortigas Mall East Wing Entrance, a shopping mall in Quezon City.

Citizens are, of course, not literally competing in a game to win 45.6 billion Korean won (or nearly two billion in Philippine peso). Instead, the “cute” doll, dressed in orange and yellow, is meant to prevent jaywalkers.

If she senses someone crossing the street, she turns her head, and her eyes light up red.

No need to worry! It’s enough to scare anyone but not to kill.

Besides that, the doll just looks like the mascot from Julie’s Bakeshop anyway. Harmless, right?
