Just when you think BTS can’t soar any higher, they do!
In April, Billboard sent an inquiry request to Guinness World Records regarding BTS’s 2019 album, Map of the Soul: Persona.
On June 25, that inquiry request was officially confirmed. According to Guinness World Records, Map of the Soul: Persona is now the best-selling album in South Korean history!
The previous sales record was set in 1995 by Kim Gun-mo’s Mis-Encounter (also known as Wrongful Encounter or Wrongful Meeting). It took 24 years, but that sales record has now been broken by none other than the Kings of K-Pop, BTS!
Each time BTS release an album, the sales increase astronomically, so there’s a chance that their next album could beat their own record!
