In the official English statement released through Weverse, they explained that when he arrived in Las Vegas, he felt some symptoms and tested positive after doing another PCR test.

After arriving in Las Vegas, he felt a slight discomfort in his throat and promptly took a rapid PCR test (COVID-19 molecular PCR test) and a standard PCR test (COVID-19 quantitative PCR test) on the afternoon of Sunday, March 27 (PT).

While being under self-quarantine as a proactive measure, the result of both tests came back positive, and Jung Kook was confirmed with COVID-19 on Monday, March 28 (PT).

Although the statement also reassured fans that Jungkook was only experiencing mild symptoms, it didn’t stop ARMYs from sharing their concerns and well wishes on social media.

After the news was shared, Jungkook surprised fans when he posted a story on Instagram reassuring fans of his condition. In the post, ARMYs were grateful to hear the idol’s voice as he explained, “I’m okay. It’s nothing much.”

In particular, netizens pointed out that it was said in a Busan dialect, which was meant to be humorous.

When the post was shared on Instagram, ARMYs shared their appreciation for the update, especially due to the time difference and his symptoms. Jungkook had chosen to ensure that fans were aware that he was doing okay.

Even though it hasn’t been long since BIGHIT MUSIC’s initial announcement, ARMYs were relieved to hear from Jungkook. As always, we continue to wish him a full and speedy recovery.
