Here’s A Look At Jungkook’s Creative Process For BTS’s “Your Eyes Tell”

Here’s a behind the scenes look at how he composed this new song.

On July 15, BTS will release MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY, their 4th Japanese studio album. One of its new songs is the b-side track “Your eyes tell”, which Jungkook took part in composing.

“Your eyes tell” will be the theme song for an upcoming Japanese film of the same name. Like the Korean movie it’s based on, Always (2011), Your Eyes Tell will follow the romance between a telemarketer who is losing her eyesight and an ex-boxer with a chip on his shoulder.

For the film’s theme, the producers wanted a moving love song that would represent the story in the way they envisioned it. They knew this request would be challenging, but BTS was up to the task.

A few demos were composed and sent to the movie’s producers, but shortly before recording, BTS submitted another track that that was much different than the previous ones. Bang Si Hyuk revealed that Jungkook wrote this final song, “Your eyes tell”, while reading the movie’s script and watching its video clips.

In the end, “Your eyes tell” what exactly what the producers were looking for! Watch the Your Eyes Tell trailer to hear a sneak peek of the song.
