In the past, it seemed like everyone thought that the world of K-Pop was cutthroat with idols always trying to outdo each other and seeing everyone around them as competition. In reality, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
One person who has recently shared that she’s got a K-Pop idol bestie is aespa‘s NingNing.
After debuting, NingNing quickly gained the love of netizens worldwide with her unbelievable talent, charming personality, and beautiful visuals. Yet, it wasn’t just fans who fell for her charms as (G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi couldn’t get enough of the group’s maknae.
As both NingNing and Yuqi are Chinese, fans once asked if the two Chinese idols ever planned to meet. Yuqi revealed that it almost happened but was canceled because “something came up” during a live broadcast.
Despite their busy schedules, Yuqi was still hoping that they would be able to make it happen. She said, “I hope that we can meet.” Yuqi even opened up about how much she enjoyed their stages.
After the live broadcast, Yuqi revealed that NingNing had reached out to her through the app WeChat… and it seems like that first step from the aespa member was the start of a beautiful friendship.
Y: Oh right
Y: Incredible news
N: What what
Y: Everyone, I added NingNing on WeChat
N: Kya~k ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Y: NingNing reached out after seeing my V App~~~~
During a recent fan call event, aespa’s NingNing revealed that she and Yuqi are true friends, and it all came from a group chat.
When a fan was chatting to NingNing, they asked how the duo had become friends. It also seems like the idol spilled on a KakaoTalk group chat that was full of Chinese idols.
There’s a KakaoTalk group that consists of Chinese idols in K-Pop.
According to NingNing, the chat allows the idols to all chat with each other and would definitely be comforting as they’re all so far away from home. The idol then revealed that it was through this chat that she managed to become besties with Yuqi.
From that group, people just call each other and become friends.
For many, it was shocking to hear that there was a group chat just for Chinese idols. Yet, it isn’t the first time it has been spoken about. Back in 2019, WayV‘s Kun revealed for the first time the creation of this group chat and that it was actually created by SEVENTEEN‘s The8.
Although not much else is known about the group chat created by The8, it seems to have become a true place to make friends. Also, considering the pandemic would’ve meant the idols couldn’t return home, it would’ve been a nice place to chat with others who were going through the same experiences.
