2NE1 “Come Back Home” director responds to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” alleged plagiarism

The music video director of 2NE1‘s “Come Back Home” gives her two-cent on the alleged plagiarism that had both Taylor Swift and 2NE1 fans riled up last week

The statements of YG Entertainment and Joseph Kahn have been heard regarding the alleged plagiarism of the American singer-songwriter’s “Bad Blood” music video copying 2NE1’s “Come Back Home,” and now, SBS‘s Midnight Entertainment TV sought out the “Come Back Home” director for her comment.

Aired on July 29th, director Shin Dong Geul said, “Although there are similar angles, I don’t think it’s plagiarism. We also have content that was borrowed from Hollywood science fiction movies. Rather than plagiarism, it feels like I’m watching a movie that’s similar.”

“Bad Blood” music video director Joseph Kahn has also denied the plagiarism accusation on his own Twitter account, giving a similar clarification, at one point writing, “The fact none of you realize the flare-hallway sequence in BAD BLOOD is from ALIEN 3 disappoints me. Fincher FTW.” His full tweets can be read here.

On the other hand, YG Entertainment opted to stay out of the arguments.
