1. When the Camellia Blooms

In 2020, he showed his acting skills while reenacting a scene from the 2019 K-Drama When the Camellia Blooms on MBC Radio‘s Idol Radio with DAY6‘s Young K. He proved relatable as he revealed it made him cry!

When the Camellia Blooms originally aired on KBS2 and internationally on Netflix in 2019. It became the highest-rated mini-series drama that year with a single episode rating of 23.8% and was enjoyed especially due to its combination of romantic-comedy and thriller genres.

2. Hospital Playlist 

During a live broadcast, Youngjae shared that he enjoyed watching Hospital Playlist after he was asked about actor Jung Kyung Ho.

TvN‘s Hospital Playlist is the second installment of the Wise Life series, following the 2017 K-Drama Prison Playbook. It is a medical drama with two seasons and was distributed internationally on Netflix. According to Nielsen Korea and Wikipedia, “the first episode recorded 10.007% viewership, setting the record for the highest premiere ratings in the network’s (tvN’s) history.”

Hospital Playlist tells the story of five doctors who have been friends since they entered medical school in 1999.

3. Our Beloved Summer

2021 K-Drama Our Beloved Summer is a coming-of-age story aired on SBS TV and Netflix. Unlike most K-Dramas these days that are based on webtoons, a webtoon that acts as a prequel, depicting the high school days of the two main characters of the TV series (Choi Ung and Kook Yeon Soo), was released on Naver Webtoon after the K-Drama.

Again on Best Friend, Youngjae shared that he is watching the ongoing K-Drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. 

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is currently on air as ENA‘s first K-Drama, and it has the industry shook as the drama’s first episode had a 0.9% rating and has grown by 10x in only three weeks (The drama releases two episodes per week). It’s already in talks for a U.S. remake, although you can watch Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix internationally. Viewers have fallen in love with the brilliant attorney on the Autism Spectrum and the show’s heartwarming storylines.
