With K-Pop becoming more global, fans see an increase of foreign idols joining the idol industry. Here are the four most well-known male Japanese idols who are actively promoting right now, according to netizens.

1. Yuto (PENTAGON)

PENTAGON‘s lead rapper Yuto was born and raised in Nagano, Japan. Dubbed as the “Takoyaki Prince’ due to his love of takoyaki, the idol was first a JYP Entertainment trainee before joining CUBE Entertainment and debuting as a member of PENTAGON.

2. U (ONF)

U, who’s full name is Mizuguchi Yuto, was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. Before coming to Korea to train, he was part of dance crew in his hometown. Like PENTAGON’s Yuto, he trained in JYP Entertainment. The two are close, with U mentioning in the past that he is close to TWICE‘s Sana since they are both from Osaka and both trained in JYP. He debuted in WM Entertainment‘s boy group ONF in 2017.

3. Kenta (JBJ95)

Hailing from Fujioka, Kenta first made his debut as a member of JBJ, a project group composed of eliminated trainees from Produce 101 Season 2. Kenta first decided to come to Korea and train after being inspired by Teen Top and Highlight. In 2018, he re-debuted in a duo with JBJ’s Sanggyun. Their duo name is JBJ95.

4. Yuta (NCT)

NCT‘s Yuta was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. Known as the takoyaki and yakisoba lover of the group, Yuta trained for three years before making his debut as a member of NCT 127. Prior to his formal debut, he was a cast member on the JTBC show Abnormal Summit, a show where representatives from each country come together to discuss issues. Obviously, he represented Japan.
