These 4 People Once Said Nasty Things About BTS…Then Apologized

Number 2 was practically forced to apologize by the police!

While BTS are currently enjoying massive success, that doesn’t mean that they haven’t been hit with unfair criticism over the years.

However, there have also been moments when people who criticized the BTS members ended up apologizing. Here are a few of these moments.

1. Rapper B-Free

Rapper B-Free came under fire after he made some disrespectful comments towards RM and Suga. When BTS had just debuted, Suga and RM guested on Kim Bong Hyun’s Hip-Hop Invitational 1st Anniversary Broadcast, and during the broadcast, B-Free criticized RM and Suga for becoming idols, as he didn’t view idols as rappers.

You guys could have taken the road towards becoming rappers, but you couldn’t beat that temptation. Is BTS’s music hip hop? Is wearing makeup on stage like a girl hip-hop?

ARMYs weren’t happy about B-Free’s comments and requested that he apologize. However, B-Free didn’t apologize and even decided to diss ARMYs.

I didn’t realise I’d have such an impact on so many people. But anyways if you’re thinking about what I said today for over 20 minutes, I sincerely recommend finding a boyfriend.

After this, BTS’s rap line decided to release a diss track targeting B-Free.

It wouldn’t be many years later until B-Free finally apologized to BTS and ARMYs for his comments. However, his apology wasn’t well-received, as many believed that he was only apologizing due to BTS’s growth in popularity.

2. BTS anti-fan

Through the years, Big Hit Entertainment has been taking action against netizens who leave malicious comments about their artists. Once in 2017, a BTS anti-fan was summoned for a police investigation after they were caught writing some malicious comments about BTS. The anti-fan ended up writing an apology letter after getting ordered to by the police. Here’s a portion of what the anti-fan wrote below.

… I have been writing a few posts in the past about BTS’ plagiarism and hateful comments. I am embarrassed to even write down what I have been posting. I regret my actions in the past and sincerely apologize.

I have been summoned by the police recently and have received an investigation. The police ordered me to write an apology letter, and which I did, I just felt the need to apologize on a personal level to BTS. But I was refused the contact information and even the company did not pick up.

I know that it is silly for me to say all these things now. But I really wanted to extend my apology to them some how. I have been searching for ways to find a contact…

3. Twitter user

During Jimin‘s birthday in 2019, ARMYs began tweeting numerous hashtags to celebrate. However, the hashtag #HappyBirthdayGorila also trended on Twitter. This harmful hashtag began spreading due to a Twitter user who’s a fan of X1.

ARMYs were not happy about this harmful tweet and demanded an apology. Not long after, the Twitter user apologized.

Hello. This is KikKik. I am the person who started the hashtag #HappyBirthdayGorila on BTS Jimin’s birthday. This hashtag became trending on Twitter. At first, I was just joking around with my Twitter friends and I had no idea that this would actually appear on the trending page. I am truly sorry. I truly apologize for posting a mocking hashtag on Jimin’s birthday, making both ARMYs and Jimin upset. I will never use Twitter again and disappear from everyone. I deserve the criticism I am receiving. I should have put myself in the other’s person’s shoes. I didn’t take the time to think through this. It’s all my fault that something like this happened on Jimin’s birthday and I am truly sorry for it. I am sorry for closing my DM window earlier. I will make sure this never happens again by never using Twitter again. Once again, I truly apologize for everything.

4. Greek TV Hostess

In 2019, the Greek TV program Eutixeite and its hosts got the attention of many K-Pop fans after they made some racist and homophobic comments towards some male K-Pop idols, which included V and Jungkook. Fans were incredibly upset by these comments and demanded Katerina Kainourgiou, the hostess, to apologize.

While Katerina Kaimourgiou did post an apology, many fans were still upset, as they didn’t believe that the apology was sincere.
