K-Drama “Mama” wraps up with highest rating of 17.7%

The heart-warming K-drama, Mama, finished its run with the highest audience rating among its rival Korean TV dramas.

On October 20th, according to Nielsen Korea, the last episode of Mama reached an audience measurement of 17.7%, scoring the highest among its rival shows.

On this last episode of Mama, Han Seunghee (played by Song Yoon Ah), who is terminally ill, promises her son Han Geu-Roo (played by Yoon Chan-Young) that she will attend her son’s middle school graduation, and passed away. But in the end, Han Seunghee miraculously attends the graduation in her spirit form, bringing the audience to tears after seeing Seunghee’s never-ending motherly love.

The heartwarming show made the audience burst into tears, and not only that, it was a refreshing plot in K-dramas among the other love stories.
