With all the raving reviews of their production, airing drama Descendants of the Sun is starting to receive more criticisms.
An article by TVDaily highlighted the recent issue pointed out by the drama’s avid fans. According to the article, product placement within the drama’s storyline is starting to become excessive, leaving some viewers to frown upon it.
Items and brands that have been excessively tied to the storyline as of late are car models and mobile brands, coffee shops, alcoholic drinks, and many others.
Despite the preproduction revenue earned prior to the placements, the drama remains arguably strong in the rankings, already breaking even with their production costs. This left some fans to question the placement of the products despite already having a massive following and thus, assumed revenue inflow.
Descendants of the Sun continues its run on KBS until next week.

[ +880 / -30] This will ruin your efforts when you flood the drama with product placement advertising…. Well if you are doing it despite knowing it.. well.. T_T
[ +809 / -48] I understand if the drama only has 11 million USD to make. But I really don’t like them eating Hongsam
[ +668 / -149] I quit this drama after the machine that boiled medicine. I guess this is the limit to hide PPL much as possible. I think it’ll just remain as a 3rd class drama for me.
